“Central location. Very comfortable facilities including a mezzanine sitting area. Delicious breakfast Extremely pleasant owners.”

We chose Palazzo Trevi Charming House because it looked clean, comfortable, pleasant, and had received good reviews. In comparison with other options in the center of Bologna, it seemed like a good value; we also liked that it was a small, family-run hotel. We were not disappointed. Our host was indeed charming, and quite helpful with restaurant suggestions and any other questions we had about getting around. The location was about a ten-minute walk of Piazza Maggiore - which was fine with us, especially with all the good food we needed to walk off.

The location is very good. The owner and his wife were very friendly . They gave us a very good map of Bologna indicating the points of interest. She also gave tips for the ladies to shop (!!!) and nice typical local restaurants. There was a bottle of wine and snacks to welcome us to our room ! The breakfast was well taken care off !!! We could choose from different things like fruit, cereals, croissants, bread, toast, ham, cheese, mozzarella, mortadella, etc. We would recommend this bb to other travelers.

Palazzo Trevi Charming House is a lovely B&B with gracious and charming hosts.
My cousin and I arrived after midnight and were greeted by the owner's son, promptly shown to our room so we could settle in. Welcomed by Consuella (I hope I spelled your name correctly) the next morning she and her husband were informative and very helpful.
The breakfast buffet selection was extensive and very good. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, breads, jams, cheese, cold cuts, frittata, hard boiled eggs, croissants, pastries cakes, juice and coffee.
The bedroom was very clean with 2 comfortable single beds and an en suite bathroom.
Approximately a 10 minute walk from the centre of town mainly under covered porticos.
I intend to stay here when I visit again next year.

Everything was just what we wanted - it was comfortable, clean, excellent breakfast on an outdoor terrace, staff friendly and helpful. The hotel is small, quiet, beautifully decorated very near town centre but far enough away from it to guarantee quiet and a good nights sleep.
- Did not dislike anything!!

The owners were there to assist, and were very polite and charming. They made everything we needed easy to receive. The breakfast was more than expected and the quality of the food was great. The cleanliness and quality of the rooms were superb. I would reccomend this location for anyone traveling to Bologna.
My wife and I agree that after trying to come up with something that we didnt like we cannot think of anything it was wonderful

From the moment we arrived at Palazzo Trevi, we were immediately welcomed warmly by the lovely Consuelo. The room was very tastefully decorated and there was a complimentary bottle of wine and chocolates, which we enjoyed out on the private terrace. One of the best things about Palazzo Trevi was the absolutely amazing breakfast. We were spoilt by all the beautiful and fresh selections of fruit, proscuitto, cheeses, salami, breads, savoury tarts, homemade cakes and pastries. One of the most delicious breakfasts I've ever had. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and the city of Bologna is a great place to explore. I definitely hope to return to both one day again,

Charming House indeed! Your hosts are delightful, rooms are spacious and clean with full bathroom amenities (eg shampoo). Breakfast is more than cold meats and cheeses, but includes home-made cakes etc and great coffee, a nice touch. The hosts clearly deserve, and wish to keep, their reputation as a charming b&B.

Dear Francesco and Consuelo
Just to say how much we enjoyed staying at Palazzo Trevi - it is a super hotel and you made us very welcome. The room was immaculate and the breakfasts were absolutely fantastic - thank you Consuela!   I just wish we could have had another day to enjoy more of your beautiful city.

Warm wishes and sincere thanks again.

This is a beautiful b+b, gorgeous bright, clean rooms that are modern and spacious. The bathroom was great with lots of lovely toiletries to choose from. The breakfast was served in a lovely bright room, and had the weather been a bit brighter there was an outside terrace. Breakfast had agreat chouce of cold meats, cheese and breads and good coffee most importantly!     -   Ha soggiornato in Ottobre 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights on the second leg on our 10 day trip to Italy in Sept. The owner is the nicest man and SUPER helpful and patient. The location is great, the whole city is walkable and he gives you a passcode to enter late at night so it feels very safe. Our room was very spacious and had a great terrace that we drank wine on and and enjoyed the view of the red clay roofs. We didnt utlize the included breakfast but we heard it was very good. Also the view from the end of the street, with the rolling hills in the backround? Such a great photo op! Bologna was a WONDERFUL city and the name of this place described it perfectly- "charming."

Palazzo Trevi is a small B+B located 5 to 10 minutes from the historic centre of Bologna, down a quiet street, it doesn't look very 'Palazzo like' either inside or out, but we didn't mind this at all - there are plenty more superb old buildings in Bologna. We stayed for 3 nights, and found the B+B to be excellent in every respect; nice sized rooms with all mod cons (safe, Sky satellite if you need it, mini bar), superb bathroom and one of the best 'continental' breakfasts we can remember. The hosts and staff were helpful and charming - all in all a thorough recommendation.

My husband and I have been traveling for 6 weeks and this was the most beautiful place we have stayed so far. Francesco & Consuelo are the most delightful and gracious hosts you could ask for. I am known as the 'Queen of clean' by many and this establishment was cleaner than my own home! Even looked as if they just finished a remodel yesterday.....it was exquisite. Everything you can think of (or more likely the things you have forgotten to think of) is in the room. We stayed in A2 which included a big kitchen/ living room with private balcony, small hallway connecting to our big bedroom and a lovely bathroom.
Our room was included with every toiletry imaginable, a washing machine, robes & slippers, extra pillows & blankets, fully equipped kitchen with an oven, big Murphy pull-down bed for
more people to stay in the living room, hair dryer, weight scale (which I stayed away from as I
ate my way through Italy), 2 TVs, lovely seating in living room and bedroom.......it was simply
perfect! And the daily breakfast included every morning was fabulous and is served by Consuelo and the most wonderful woman (an employee) whose name I am sorry I did not ask.
Francesco and Consuelo called taxis for us, make dinner reservations for us and directed us to every site we wanted to go. We met their beautiful daughter, and the littlest family member Sophia Loren (their puppy). They made us feel like we were family home for a visit, and we look forward to coming back 'home' for another visit in the future. Palazzo Trevi Charming House truly is a must stay when in Bologna!

We decided to try Bologna instead of Florence in a bid to avoid the tourist groups we had experienced in Rome and enjoy the northern parts of Italy. This hotel was a wonderful spot in this mid-sized historical town. The hotel staff were really helpful in advising us on top places to visit and gave some great recommendations to eat. I would definitely recommend you try the closest restaurant - cote & co, they mention - as its great food the locals come to enjoy, rather than being an overpriced tourist spot. Breakfast here is extensive and fresh, so well worth fitting that into the itinerary.

We stayed at the Palazzo Trevi for a week from 4-11 June, having decided to use Bologna as a base from which to explore by rail other towns in the region . We chose this hotel specifically on the basis of other excellent reviews it had received. The first impression we gained on arrival was not particularly favourable as there was some graffiti on the adjoining wall and the reception area of the hotel is somewhat darker than represented on the hotel's website. However, the welcome we received from the owners was friendly and we were more than satisfied with our room which was on the top floor at the back. It was clean, and comfortably and attractively furnished with an equally clean and attractive bathroom (if a little cramped). The very efficient double-glazing meant that with the windows closed it was nice and quiet and the indivually-controlled air conditioning unit worked well. Admittedly we were fortunate not to have anyone in the neighbouring room for most of our stay, and then I think there was a single occupant. I did have a suspicion that if there had been more than one person in there we would have been able to hear more noise (we have a thing about badly-soundproofed hotels!)
I note other reviewers have remarked on the hotel not being situated in a particularly attractive part of town and it is true to say that there is a fair bit of graffiti about on the walls of the covered porticoes, something which is true of the whole city as far as we could see. However we never at any stage felt unsafe, even after dark. The area around the hotel is a genuine neighbourhood with local shops and a school up the road. There is a very conveniently situated bus stop for the 10-minute ride to the station just round the corner. You have to purchase bus tickets in advance from a tobacconist, one of which also happens to be found very nearby.
The charming, multi-lingual owners, recommended a restaurant to us a few minutes' walk away and we were so pleased with it we went there every night. It was called the Restaurant Console and offered a great variety of delicious pizzas as well as pasta, fish and meat dishes. Equally as important was the fact that all the waiting staff were incredibly cheerful, eager to please and obviously happy in their work. The place would fill up with Italian families and the noisy chatter and demonstrative greetings etc was a pleasure to witness.
Oh yes - breakfast at the hotel was very good indeed. We particularly enjoyed the coffee which was freshly brewed to order to suit individual tastes. We would certainly stay here again if ever back in this part of Italy.

Palazzo Trevi was a truly wonderful experience. I've stayed in B&B's in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy, and Trevi stands out among them. The rooms are large and comfortable, the owners are friendly, and the breakfasts are phenomenal. I still recall the moment when I stepped out, jet-lagged, to an amazing spread of fresh fruit and the highest-quality breads, meats and cheeses. And this is coming from a person who regularly spends $100/head on high-end restaurant meals. I wish I could have stayed longer just for the breakfast!

?Amazing accommodation in an amazing city?

What a great experience. Palazzo Trevi is a wonderful place to stay - clean, bright, comfortable beds, fantastic bathrooms and an easy 10 minute walk into the center of town.
The breakfast selection was huge and everything was great quality.
Francesco & Giorgia were so welcoming and hospitable during our stay, despite being taken over by a family with 2 young children! Thank you so much - we will definitely return and tell all our friends how wonderful your B&B is!

We had a 3 night stay. The location is convenient, appproximately 10-15 minutes from Bologna's center, 1 block from the major bus line to the rail terminal. Our hosts were unfailingly helpful and knowledgeable regarding the area. We used Bologna as a base to take a day trip to the incredible mosaics in Ravenna. (Our host suggested that we would also enjoy nearby Ferrara and his recommendation was excellent). The quality and variety of the breakfast was superb. While the decor of the room was rather basic/functional, overall we would recommend this.

Palazzo Trevi is the perfect home base when discovering and exploring the wonders of the under-appreciated city of Bologna. It is a charming, very clean boutique hotel slightly outside the central part of the city. Its proprietors are exceptionally friendly and hospitable. Because our overnight train from Paris came in at an early hour, they opened their reception desk an hour before the usual time. They had a room ready for us and they gave us breakfast on the day of our arrival. They were warm and welcoming throughout our stay. The room was large, comfortable and very very clean. The view from the window is breathtaking -- I've made my picture of it my screensaver. The breakfasts served at Palazzo Trevi are outstanding. All around, this is the place where you must stay and to which we will be returning when we come back to Bologna.

Stayed here on business during a trade fair when all the big hotels were booked solid. So glad I found this place instead of going to the big guys. Within minutes of the center of town, but just far enough that you experience the real neighborhood of Bologna. The couple who runs it are extremely kind and helpful - from booking restaurants to helping you with travel arrangements. You really feel like you are a guest in their house, rather than customer. Rooms are simple, but very clean with internet access, tea kettle, satellite tv and in-room fridge. There's a quaint terrace you can eat breakfast on.
